The same week that Celebrity Cruises debuted Celebrity Edge (the first ship in its Edge series), the cruise line has announced that the second vessel in its Edge series (Celebrity Apex) will debut out of Southampton, England, in April 2020.

Celebrity Apex will join the line’s five other ships in Europe in 2020, giving the brand its most expansive European season ever. Celebrity Apex’s schedule will include calls to the Norwegian Fjords, Spain, and Portugal; as well as a new, 10-night “Capital Cities Cruise” itinerary with calls in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo, and Paris, as well as stops in Lisbon and Valletta.

Apex is also scheduled to sail a “Western Mediterranean” itinerary, starting in Barcelona and ending in Rome, with stops in Naples, Florence, Monte Carlo, Cannes, and Palma De Mallorca.

The ship will debut with many of the features that Celebrity showcased during Edge’s preview week, including 29 dining venues, Infinite Verandah staterooms, and outdoor plunge pools.

Joining Celebrity Apex in Europe will be Celebrity Edge, which will start its first full European season in 2020 in the eastern region and Adriatic, along with a couple of Celebrity Revolution ships (Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Constellation). Silhouette is scheduled to sail “Best of Europe” itineraries out of Southampton, which includes stops in Iceland and Ireland; while Constellation will feature nine- and 10-night itineraries almost exclusively in Italy or Greece.

Rounding out the expanded fleet will be Celebrity Infinity, which will head to the Mediterranean with a mini season of sailings from Lisbon, Portugal and Reflection; it will also offer three Iceland and Ireland itineraries, with round-trip sailings from Dublin.
