Cunard Delays Launch of Queen Anne

by Dori Saltzman  November 09, 2022
Cunard Delays Launch of Queen Anne

In the post-pandemic era, it’s rare indeed for a new cruise ship to launch as originally scheduled. Cunard’s Queen Anne is the latest ship to fall victim to “supply chain constraints.”

Instead of launching in January 2024, Queen Anne will now take to the seas in May.

“Due in part to unforeseen events that have occurred in recent years, the shipbuilding industry, like other industries, has faced numerous challenges including energy shortages and global supply chain constraints. As a result, our new ship Queen Anne will be arriving slightly later than expected.”

The ship’s new maiden voyage will depart from Southampton on May 3, 2024 for a seven-night sailing visiting La Coruna and Lisbon.

Guests on the original maiden sailing have been automatically moved to the new inaugural voyage. All other guests with impacted bookings (voyages departing from January 4 up to and including April 14 2024) will be given a full refund plus an additional 10% Future Cruise Credit (FCC).

The ship’s new maiden season will include sailings from Southampton to the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, the Canary Islands, and the Norwegian Fjords. These voyages go on sale December 6, 2022 for Cunard World Club members and on general sale on December 7, 2022.

When it debuts, Queen Anne will feature an all-new livery, a new-to-Cunard wellness concept, and 15 restaurants.
