American Airlines is adding two new flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Canada this summer.
The first is a daily flight from JFK to Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), which starts Aug. 5. American will fly this route on its Boeing 737 MAX 8. The second is a three-times-weekly direct service from JFK to Calgary International Airport (YYC), which begins Aug. 6. American will operate this route using its Embraer E175 jets.
According to Cirium and TPG, who first reported the news, American will operate the flights seasonally through at least October.
American also recently announced plans to return to Venezuela for the first time since 2019. The move is “pending government approval and subject to security assessments.” Specifics regarding the relaunch remain thin. American declined to provide a start date or departure cities, stating only that it “will share additional details… in the coming months.”
