American Airlines this week officially kicked off its summer schedule with a few new seasonal international routes that will run into the fall.
American is now flying daily seasonal service from Philadelphia International (PHL) to Budapest (BUD) and Prague (PRG) on its Boeing 787-8 aircraft. At the same time, American is flying nonstop service from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW, its hub) to Athens (ATH) and Zurich (ZRH) on its Boeing 777-200ER and 777-300ER aircraft.
American is already expanding beyond those airports, too, including with new year-round service from Miami (MIA) to Milan (MXP), new year-round service from Philadelphia (PHL) to Santiago, Dominican Republic (STI), and then seasonal service from JFK International (JFK) to Edinburgh, Scotland (EDI), which will run through October 24.
With those new flights, and the others American has announced recently, the airline expects to fly 75 million customers across 750,000 flights this summer, which would mark a record for American.
