WestJet is increasing its network this summer within Canada and the United States.

The Calgary-based airline unveiled its summer 2025 schedule today, which includes 11 new routes – representing 10% growth network-wide.

WestJet’s new direct flights include two domestic and three U.S. direct flights, connecting Calgary to Sudbury, Ontario; Sydney, Nova Scotia; Anchorage, Alaska; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; and, Salt Lake City, Utah.

WestJet’s new domestic destinations

From June 12 until Oct. 19, WestJet will offer a twice-weekly non-stop service from Calgary to Sudbury – the largest metropolitan area in Canada without WestJet service.

The airline is also adding a seasonal service connecting Calgary and Sydney (Nova Scotia). This direct flight will be available from June 10 until Oct. 19.

“WestJet’s expanded summer schedule reflects our continued commitment to connecting Canadians by increasing our domestic and international capacity. In Canada alone we are growing capacity by 12 percent, operating to 41 airports with over 3,000 weekly departures,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Group, executive vice-president and chief commercial officer.

WestJet’s new U.S. destinations

WestJet is launching a twice-weekly seasonal service between Calgary and Anchorage operating from June 29 until Sept. 7 – allowing Canadians to take advantage of Alaska’s in-demand cruises and other summer offerings.

The airline is also launching a new nonstop flight to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina from Calgary. Operating three times a week, this service will be available from June 9 until Oct. 13.

Finally, WestJet has added direct connectivity to Salt Lake City, Utah for the first time. The new service operates five times a week out of Edmonton and runs from May 15 until Oct. 24.

Other new U.S. routes added to WestJet’s summer schedule include Calgary to Minneapolis, Edmonton to Chicago, Vancouver to Boston, and Vancouver to Tampa.

“Offering more options for business and leisure travel, we’re excited to see our guests’ stories take off this summer as we ensure Canadians have affordable and reliable access to visit the people and destinations they love,” added Weatherill.
