WestJet’s global network is expanding.

Today (June 24), The WestJet Group announced its first-ever codeshare agreement with German-based Condor Airlines. Under the new agreement, guests can access Condor flights to Frankfurt, Germany from Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, and Halifax under a single WestJet ticket.

“Through the expansion of our partnership with Condor Airlines, we are unlocking amazing opportunities for our guests in Europe and Canada to access an extensive list of tourism destinations on both sides of the Atlantic,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Group executive vice-president and chief commercial officer.

Last week, the Calgary-based carrier also celebrated the inaugural flights of several new routes: a domestic seasonal service connecting Calgary and Fredericton, and international services from Halifax to Dublin and Edinburgh.

“Over the next four months, we anticipate WestJet will bring thousands of guests to the Fredericton region via our global hub in Calgary. We understand the impact these flights bring to the community and appreciate today’s support and excitement surrounding this critical route,” said Weatherill.

The Fredericton-Calgary service is twice-weekly and will be offered from June 20 to Oct. 24. The Halifax-Edinburgh route is offered three times a week, while the Halifax-Dublin service is available four times a week. Both services run until Oct. 13.

“We are thrilled to further strengthen the connection between Halifax and Edinburgh as we continue to expand strategic air access across the region,” said Andrew Gibbons, WestJet vice-president of external affairs.
