Celebrity Cruises Enhances Food & Beverage Options for Celebrity Ascent
by Dori Saltzman /When Celebrity Ascent launches in November, it will feature redesigned restaurants, a new Le Petit Chef experience, expanded food and cocktail menus, a new whisky tasting experience, and a plant-based multi-course dinner.
“The memories we make with family and friends while sharing food and drink has long-been one of the most memorable parts of travel, and with Celebrity Ascent we sought every opportunity to make these experiences richer and even more exciting for our guests,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, Celebrity Cruises’ president.
Here’s what’s new:
A new Le Voyage
The second installment of chef Daniel Boulud’s Le Voyage fine dining restaurant will feature an all-new design, but the menu will remain pretty much the same. Menu items are curated by Chef Boulud and include dishes from his personal travels and favorite places around the world.
For the ultimate culinary experience, groups can reserve the Chef’s Table, a private six-seat dining room featuring a multi-course tasting menu complete with wine pairings. In true Boulud fashion, Chef’s Table diners are treated to his signature madeleines at the end of their meal.
Plant-based options
Eden, the three level lounge and entertainment space, will offer a new seven-course plant-based tasting menu in its restaurant. Each dish features ingredients that have been sourced from their original place of origin. Menu highlights include dishes like the Golden Beet-Tomato Ceviche, Ajoblanco Panna Cotta, Roasted and Glazed Celeriac Steak, and Dry Rose Petals Masala Curry. The menu can be enjoyed as a tasting menu or a la carte.
New Le Petit Chef
Cruisers dining at Le Petit Chef on Celebrity Ascent will be treated to an all-new four-course dining show told in the style of a fairytale as the tiny chef comes across a mysterious magical cookbook with whimsical recipes.
Redesigned dining rooms
Diners in the Cosmopolitan main dining room will notice a new design, inspired by the culture of Champagne, featuring a new layout and seating throughout. And Aqua-class stateroom guests can enjoy the opportunity to dine al fresco for breakfast or dinner in Blu’s new outdoor terrace space.
Whisky on tap
For Ascent, Celebrity Cruises is partnering with WhistlePig Whiskey. The ship will feature two hand-selected barrels made exclusively for Celebrity Cruises: Special Bespoke Barrel Aged 12 Years and Special Single Barrel Aged 10 Years. Both will be available at Craft Social, either as a la carte or as part of a tasting flight that also features WhistlePig PiggyBack 100 Proof Bourbon (aged 6 years), WhistlePig 10, and WhistlePig 12.
Celebrity Ascent launches this fall, sailing from Port Everglades.
