Celebrity Cruises promised it would do European river cruising differently and, so far, it’s delivering. The line unveiled key details of its upcoming river cruise ship fleet, including the first ever cantilevered restaurant on Europe’s rivers. The ships also will feature an innovative hull, delivering a lightweight design that improves river navigation.

Starting with two ships – Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker – Celebrity’s European river fleet will feature “a patent-pending industry-leading design that offers more space to vacation while bringing guests even closer to destinations,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises.

Among the highlights onboard will be the Magic Edge – the first-ever cantilevered dining pods on a river cruise ship.

Additionally, the ships will feature “revolutionary open decks,” which Celebrity claims offers the most useable outdoor space of any river ship that will remain accessible throughout the entire journey. (Some river ship upper decks cannot be used on rivers that have a lot of bridges.) Open decks will feature “transformative shade structures,” along with a top-deck bar and grill, and an infinity-edge plunge pool.

Celebrity’s River Cruise Staterooms

Innovative stateroom design, something the brand is known for with its Edge Class ships, will translate onto the river with enhanced storage, king-sized beds in every stateroom, and large balconies.

Five stateroom categories will be available with all having complimentary stocked mini bars and destination-inspired amenities.

Among the room categories will be another first on the rivers – a cabin with a skylight. The Skylight Infinite Balcony Suites will feature a separate living area and a ceiling window for lots of natural light.

Other stateroom categories include the Vista Balcony Suite, Vista Balcony, Infinity Balcony, and River View.

Suite guests will have dedicated, on-demand butler service, complimentary exclusive dining, room service, and happy hour experiences, as well as complimentary laundry once each sailing, and priority booking for shore excursions.

Dining with Celebrity’s River Cruises

Known for its diverse dining options at sea, Celebrity is bringing its large selection of dining and bar options to Europe’s rivers with eight restaurants and bars – including Celebrity signature Martini Bar, Sunset Bar, and Café Al Bacio.

Destination-driven menus will be offered giving guests the chance to try local delicacies, such as locally baked morning pastries. All-day dining access will offer the guests 24/7 meal options, including complimentary breakfast room service for all guests.

Celebrity River’s In-Destination Details

Celebrity will offer 33 seven-night sailings on the Rhine and Danube, with many itineraries offering multiple ports per day, as well as overnight experiences.

Pre-booking access to the line’s 2027 itineraries opened and sold out on the same day.
