Hard Rock Brings New Ski Resort To The Swiss Alps
by Jessica Montevago /Hard Rock International will open its next hotel in Davos, Switzerland, the highest city in Europe, this December.
The Hard Rock Hotel Davos will be housed in a 130-year-old building that’s being redesigned to include the brand’s signature rock-and-roll memorabilia. The property will have 111 rooms, including 31 one- to three-bedroom apartments, three conference rooms and a historic chapel. Guests who want to hit the slopes will be offered ski rooms where they can store their equipment and gear.
The luxury hotel will be walking distance from ski lifts and museums, as well as the city’s convention center, golf course and train station.
Hard Rock plans to expand its brand in “influential” cities and resort destinations around the world, especially in Europe, the company said. Following debuts in Ibiza and Tenerife, Hard Rock will open its fourth European resort, the 370-room Hard Rock Hotel Malta, in 2020.
Hard Rock International currently operates 22 hotels across the globe. It also is spending $375 to overhaul the Trump Taj Mahal in New Jersey, and opening its fourth property in Florida, a 200-key hotel in Daytona Beach, in late 2017.
