All-Inclusive Hard Rock Hotels End Resort Credits

All-inclusive Hard Rock Hotels of Mexico and the Dominican Republic will phase out resort credits, typically added as a promotion for extra value to a package, and in its place will have an opt-in service fee, parent AIC Hotel Group announced on Wednesday.

Resort credits vary, depending on the length of stay and room category. With Hard Rock’s previous resort credit promotion, a three- night stay in a deluxe room received $500 in resort credits, whereas a five-night stay in the Rock Suite Gold category received $1,500.

Under Hard Rock’s new policy, guests can pay one additional price for unlimited access to amenities and services not normally included in the all-inclusive package. The company said it will give guests a “truly all-inclusive stay” by nixing the cap on resort credit dollars.

A 25 percent service fee will not be added to the room rate. Instead, the fee will apply per experience/amenity booked and will be billed to guests’ rooms. Guests will be notified at the time of booking the experiences what the cost will be and they will then be able to pay the charge upon check-out.

The “Limitless All-Inclusive” charge will apply to golf at Jack Nicklaus and Robert von Hagge designed courses; select Rock Spa treatments; tours and excursions; POSH Beauty Salon; and barber shop services at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, Hard Rock Hotel Cancun, Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta and Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos (opening in 2019).

The new concept will launch with bookings made on or after Sept. 15, 2018, for travel beginning Jan. 6, 2019.
