As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2026, travelers will have plenty of opportunities to experience the country’s history firsthand. From walking Boston’s Freedom Trail to exploring Independence Hall in Philadelphia and visiting the nation’s capital, guided tours are making it easy for clients to immerse themselves in the stories and places that shaped America’s founding.
To mark the occasion, several tour operators have introduced special itineraries — or tweaked existing ones — themed to celebrate America’s 250th. These are tours that showcase the nation’s founding alongside cultural attractions, regional cuisine, and other memorable experiences, typically blending historical exploration with contemporary delights.
From luxury private outings featuring magnificent historic hotels, to more active journeys that invite travelers to walk in their forefathers’ footsteps, here are some of the guided land tours travel advisors can book for clients looking to celebrate America’s 250th.
Collette, “Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary”

Announced in May 2025, Collette’s “Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary” is a nine-day tour available for a limited time. The itinerary explores the key sites for the American Revolution, tracing the history from Boston to New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. Highlights include tours of the Lexington and Concord battle site, where the American Revolutionary War began; lunch in an 18th-century tavern in New York City; and a visit to George Washington’s estate at Mount Vernon.
The premium tour operator’s initial departures launched in March 2026, and there are dates running until November 2026. As of writing, Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary is currently being offered with a discount up to $350 for select dates, and several departures have sold out.
EF Go Ahead Tours, “America 250: The American Revolution from Boston to Yorktown”
EF Go Ahead Tours has unveiled a special departure for 2027 that celebrates America’s founding. “America 250: The American Revolution from Boston to Yorktown” is an 11-day itinerary that traces the nation’s founding through Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Yorktown, and Richmond, with highlights including Revolutionary War battlefields, Fourth of July fireworks in Boston, and a performance of the acclaimed musical Hamilton.

Kensington, “America’s 250th Anniversary Tour”
Luxury tour operator Kensington unveiled its America 250 tour among a slate of U.S. and Canada tours last fall, citing increased demand for its North America portfolio. The 10-day itinerary is a private and customizable exploration of America’s history, with stops in Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC.
Highlights of Kensington’s “America’s 250th Anniversary Tour” include a private walking tour of the historic sites of the Freedom Trail, a cruise to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty to explore America’s immigrant story, and guided tours of DC’s monuments, top museums, and Arlington’s landmark national cemetery.
Tauck, “Celebrating America’s 250th, An Event Featuring Ken Burns”

Tauck is marking the U.S. historic milestone with a special departure from its Ken Burns collection of tours. Burns is a celebrated documentary filmmaker, known for his signature style and dedication to capturing America’s history. For years, he has been partnering with Tauck to develop itineraries that are thematically tied to his films.
“Celebrating America’s 250th, An Event Featuring Ken Burns” continues this tradition. The seven-day journey visiting New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC includes exclusive experiences such as a private talk and meet-and-greet with Burns, an after-hours event at the Museum of the American Revolution, and a private lecture by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Rick Atkinson at the National Archives.
Bonus: Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours

Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours is a tour operator that specializes in small-group, historian-led journeys. Its Revolutionary War lineup includes two departures of Revolutionary War: The Campaigns of George Washington, along with Revolutionary War: Boston to Quebec and Revolutionary War: Road to Yorktown, each exploring key battlefields, historic sites, and the people who shaped the nation’s founding.
