Holland America to Offer First Pole-to-Pole Grand Voyage

The Volendam will be host to the 2025 pole-to-pole Grand Voyage.

Holland America Line will sail it's first-ever Pole-to-Pole Grand Voyage in 2025. The 133-day voyage will sail roundtrip from the United States, departing in January, and span five continents including Antarctica. In total, the voyage will visit 68 ports in 28 countries, and feature eight overnight stays.

"Detailed planning went into this voyage to ensure we're visiting destinations when the weather is favorable, and we included locations that are sought after like the Amazon River, Greenland and Iceland, in addition to Antarctica and the Arctic," said Paul Grigsby, vice president for deployment and itinerary planning at Holland America Line.

Sailing at the same time as the line's Grand World Voyage, it will be the first time Holland America is offering two voyages of more than 120 days simultaneously.

"This will be a truly historic pair of voyages," said Holland America Line president Gus Antorcha. "Our Grand World Voyage travels east to west and our other Grands focus on one region, so designing this first-of-its-kind route that explores south to north roundtrip from the U.S. is an incredible way to allow our guests two different choices to travel across the world."

Travel advisors can deposited Future Cruise Requests on behalf of their clients for either voyage. Guests with a deposited Future Cruise Request will get priority booking confirmation prior to the two voyages officially opening to the public May 24, 2023.

Clients who book the full 133-day Pole-to-Pole Grand Voyage (or 124-day Grand World Voyage) by June 3, 2024 will receive onboard spending credits and amenities valued at up to $8,800 ($8,500 for Grand World Voyage) per person.
