Holland America Line’s Oosterdam cruise ship has emerged from dry dock with major onboard enhancements that include upgraded staterooms and Rolling Stone Lounge. Other enhancements included technical and interior design upgrades to several public areas, the addition of a new Effy jewelry retail space, and an expanded casino with even more gaming options.

In all, more than 215,000-square-feet of new carpet was installed in all suites, verandah staterooms, and numerous public areas including the atrium, photo gallery, Rolling Stone Lounge, and Greenhouse Spa & Salon. Rolling Stone Lounge also received a fully upgraded bar, furnishings, and LED lighting and flooring.

Additionally, select in-stateroom bathrooms also received full renovations and several balcony staterooms have new deck furniture.

The Greenhouse Spa received a new co-ed sauna and a new couple’s massage therapy room, while the Salon was expanded with new manicure stations and pedicure chairs. Additionally, the Spa’s Thermal Suite was rebuilt with a new Laconium thermal room, steam room, and experiential rain shower.

Oosterdam’s Lido Market & Canaletto

The Lido Market received a substantial refresh, with new tiles and countertops. Both Lido Market and Canaletto received new seating upholstery.

The ship’s Crow’s Nest also underwent a major transformation. Guests can now enjoy a refreshed Arts Studio where they’ll find a variety of arts and crafts classes; a dedicated games room with lots of board and tabletop games; and a cozy puzzle area. The space features new furniture in each area.

Oosterdam’s Neptune Lounge

Suite guests with access to the Neptune Lounge will find several updates, including new carpet, drapes, and light fixtures, along with new dining and lounge furniture. Additionally, a new concierge desk was added.

Oosterdam’s Aft Deck & Pool

At the back of the ship, the Sea View aft pool now features new luxury spa hot tubs and fresh teak decking.

Oosterdam’s Effy Lounge & Retail Shop

A major project during Oosterdam’s dry dock was the installation of a new Effy Lounge and retail shop, which replaced a small movie theater. The space feature two distinct areas for guests to explore. Before entering the store, guests are welcomed into a comfortable lounge where they can meet with an Effy jewelry associate to begin their shopping journey. Here, they can enjoy a drink while searching for the perfect piece. The shop mirrors the look and feel of Effy’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York City.

Oosterdam, which spent two weeks in dry dock in the Bahamas, is now on its way to Europe for its spring/summer Mediterranean season.
