MSC Cruises USA is reorganizing its executive structure and has created a new role, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, which will be filled by long-time cruise industry veteran Lynn Torrent. She will be responsible for leading the line’s sales, marketing, revenue management and contact center functions. Current executive vice president and chief operations officer, Ken Muskat will leave in August.

“I am very excited for Lynn to join our talented team and bring her proven leadership and expertise to support our rapid growth in the U.S. market,” said Ruben A. Rodriguez, president of MSC Cruises USA.

According to the line, the new role is part of a broader “organizational realignment to integrate commercial functions and support growth opportunities and priorities.” One of the line’s key priorities is to recruit a new senior vice president of sales and trade partnerships.

Torrent has held a series of senior executive roles at Carnival Cruise Line, and has led Costa Cruise Line in the U.S. More recently, Torrent was division president at Apple Leisure Group.

As part of the reorg, Suzanne Salas will be promoted to senior vice president of marketing and eCommerce. She will lead the cruise line’s efforts to build its eCommerce and digital marketing capabilities.
