MSC Cruises Scores Final Approval for Miami Terminal

MSC Cruises has received final approval from the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners for its double Miami cruise terminal, due to open in late 2022.
The plans include one large building at Port Miami that will host two cruise terminals and two berths. The terminals will be large enough to host two of MSC’s mega-ships, including the 4,500-passenger MSC Meraviglia, which will sail from Miami later this year; and the 5,696-passenger MSC Bellissima, which debuted earlier this year.
In one day, the terminal will be able to turnaround two cruise ships and handle up to 28,000 passenger movements.
“The new terminal – which, as the renderings clearly show, will be one of the most innovative the industry has seen – will support MSC Cruises planned further expansion in North America by allowing our most innovative ship classes to be represented at PortMiami, the World’s Cruise Capital,” MSC’s Pierfrancesco Vago said.
The plan is for MSC Cruises to sail four ships out of Port Miami—Seaside, Armonia, Divina, and Meraviglia.
