Air Transat has announced a new interline partnership with one of Brazil’s largest carriers, GOL Airlines. The agreement will greatly enhance onward connectivity for Canadian travellers, opening access to a broad range of destinations across Brazil and the wider South American region.

With this partnership, customers flying Air Transat into Rio de Janeiro Galeão International Airport (GIG) will enjoy connections to GOL’s robust network of 65 domestic and 17 international destinations. Key Brazilian markets such as São Paulo, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, and Belo Horizonte will now be even more accessible for Canadian travellers.

“We are thrilled to partner with GOL to make it easier than ever for Canadians to explore Brazil and beyond,” said Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat. “This partnership strengthens our presence in South America and expands our network in a way that perfectly complements our new non-stop service to Rio de Janeiro.”

This announcement comes as Air Transat prepares to launch its first-ever non-stop service to Rio de Janeiro:

  • Toronto (YYZ): twice weekly starting February 4, 2026
  • Montreal (YUL): once weekly starting February 5, 2026

The interline partnership is now in effect, with combined itineraries becoming available for booking in the coming days.
