Flair Launches First-Ever Vancouver-Guanajuato Route

Flair Airlines launches first-ever non-stop service between Canada and Guanajuato airport (BJX).

Flair Airlines has launched a new non-stop route between Vancouver and Guanajuato, marking the first direct air connection between Canada and Mexico’s Bajío region.

The new service between Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Guanajuato International Airport (BJX) began Oct. 3, with weekly flights and introductory fares starting at $189.

“Welcoming BJX into our network marks the first-ever direct connection between the Bajío region and Canada,” said Len Corrado, CEO of Flair Airlines, in a press release. “We’re making it easier for customers to discover this vibrant region with travel that is reliable, easy, and affordable, and built for memorable moments.”

The route expands Flair’s international network in Mexico while giving Canadians direct access to Mexico’s Bajío region, including León, Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende.

“We are very excited to launch this new connection between Vancouver, Canada, and the Bajío region. We are bringing more of Guanajuato to the world, a destination with a unique identity, rich cultural heritage, and a high-value tourism offering,” stated Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, the Governor of Guanajuato.

“This route not only makes new experiences more accessible but also helps strengthen the ties between our communities and create more opportunities for our people.”

Officials at Guanajuato International Airport said the route is expected to support both leisure and business travel between the two markets.

“We are confident that this new connection will be highly successful and will contribute to both tourism and business travel. We extend a warm welcome to Flair Airlines to this airport, and to visitors from Vancouver, we reiterate that we are ready to receive you with the quality and warmth in service that distinguish us,” added Paola Olivo Moreno, director of Guanajuato International Airport, in a statement.

“We welcome Flair Airlines and look forward to receiving visitors with the warmth and service our region is known for.”

Flair said the new route is designed to serve a mix of travellers, including those visiting friends and relatives, leisure travellers exploring the region and passengers travelling for business.
