More Good News on the Labour Front for Air Canada
by Bruce Parkinson
Air Canada employees have ratified three collective agreements so far this year, with a third likely on the way.
Last week, the airline announced the ratification of a new collective agreement with Unifor, which represents approximately 6,000 employees in Air Canada’s Service Centres, Customer Relations, Concierge Services, Terminal Operations, and Customer Route Management. The four-year collective agreement is in effect until February 28, 2030.
Unifor says the deal delivers “very strong gains,” including 21% in compounded wage increases, strengthened pensions, enhanced benefits and greater job security. The ratification was approved by 94% of employees who voted.

As mentioned above, the agreement with Unifor is the third collective agreement to be ratified this year at Air Canada, following those for its Flight Operations and In-Flight Services employees.
AC also reached an agreement in principle with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW), which represents more than 11,000 Air Canada employees in Maintenance, Cabin Service, Airside Operations, Cargo, Finance, and Office roles.
The terms of that new agreement remain confidential pending ratification by union members, expected in the coming weeks, and approval by Air Canada’s Board of Directors.
