Adventure Canada is expanding its expedition portfolio for 2028 with new journeys through the Canadian Arctic, Northern Europe, and Antarctica.
The expanded collection introduces a new eastern gateway voyage to the Northwest Passage, a North Atlantic expedition linking Iceland and the Faroe Islands, and a new Antarctica Peninsula voyage, alongside the return of many favourites.
The company says the 2028 program builds on its focus on small-ship expedition travel, with voyages designed around wildlife, history, culture, and community connections.
“For 2028, we wanted to create more opportunities for travellers to visit the regions where we have deep experience, while also opening the door to new places and perspectives,” says Cedar Swan, CEO.
“Whether guests are drawn to the Canadian Arctic, Antarctica, or the cultural coastlines of Northern Europe, this expanded collection offers more choice while continuing to deliver the immersive, education-focused, community-connected experiences that our clients know and value.”

More Choice in the Canadian Arctic
The 2028 collection continues to build on Adventure Canada’s Canadian Arctic strength. In addition to the return of its premier journeys Into and Out of the Northwest Passage, the company has added a new shorter Northwest Passage: Eastern Gateway journey that offers an introduction to the High Arctic during the illuminated summer months, with one departure in July and another in August.
Sailing aboard Ocean Victory, this 13-day expedition explores Greenland’s west coast, including the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord, before spending five days among the wildlife-rich waters of Tallurutiup Imanga, with visits to Ikpiarjuk (Arctic Bay) and Beechey Island, and ending in Qausuittuq (Resolute), Nunavut. The August sailing follows the reverse route.
The expedition also places Inuit knowledge, community, and history at the centre of the journey. Guests travel through Inuit homelands alongside Inuit cultural educators and knowledge holders, with time spent in local communities.
The Passage in a New Light
Among the 2028 highlights, Adventure Canada’s Out of the Northwest Passage expedition will celebrate the 100th anniversary since the St. Roch – an RCMP schooner that was the first vessel to traverse the Passage from west to east – was launched for Arctic service.
New Northern Europe Itinerary Connects Culture, Coastlines & Heritage
Another new addition for 2028 is the Iceland & the Faroe Islands: Islands Born of Fire and Sea expedition. Sailing aboard Ocean Victory, the 11-day voyage starts and ends in Reykjavík, circumnavigating Iceland and exploring how its many volcanoes, glaciers, geothermal forces, and ocean continually reshape the shoreline

New Antarctica Expedition Expands Southern Ocean Options
Adventure Canada’s 2028 program also introduces new ways to explore Antarctica, going deeper into the White Continent with its new Antarctic Peninsula: An Explorer’s Expedition, an 11-day voyage that sails from Ushuaia across the Drake Passage to the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula, where daily activities are shaped by weather, wildlife, and ice conditions.
Returning Favourites
The 2028 program also brings back several Adventure Canada favourites, from Newfoundland and Sable Island to Scotland and the High Arctic. Each expedition offers a distinct way to explore the landscapes, communities, and histories that have shaped these regions.
Greenland & Wild Labrador: A Torngat Mountains Adventure connects Greenland’s western coast with the rugged Torngat Mountains of Labrador.
Newfoundland Circumnavigation explores the island from the sea, tracing connections between its communities, cultures, and maritime history.
Sable Island – Wild Horses and Outpost Legacy ventures to the shifting sands of Sable Island in collaboration with Parks Canada.
Scotland, The Faroe Islands & Iceland – North Atlantic Saga follows the historic sea roads linking three island worlds.
High Arctic Expedition – Where Art Meets Land returns in partnership with the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, exploring Greenland and the Canadian High Arctic through the relationship between art, landscape, and place.
Ellesmere Island and North Greenland: Journey to the top of the World heads to one of the planet’s highest-altitude regions, travelling between Ellesmere Island and North Greenland and – weather and conditions permitting – reaching Tartupaluk (Hans Island), Adventure Canada’s northernmost destination.
