Amidst a shelter-in-place order issued by the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, cruise lines are rerouting their cruise ships away from the popular cruise port, at least for this week.

“The safety and wellbeing of our guests, crew, and the communities we visit are always a top priority. Due to ongoing security operations and the recent U.S. travel warning issued for select areas in Mexico, Norwegian Bliss’ scheduled call to Puerto Vallarta on Feb. 15, 2026, has been canceled,” a spokesperson for Norwegian Cruise Line told TMR, adding that the situation is being monitored. “Any additional itinerary updates for ships scheduled to call to Mexico in the near future will be communicated directly with impacted guests.”

Norwegian Bliss is next scheduled to stop at Puerto Vallarta on March 4, 2026.

Carnival Corp. has similarly canceled scheduled port calls from Holland America’s Zuiderdam, which was set to visit today (Feb. 23). Royal Princess is extending its call to Cabo San Lucas overnight today and will call on Mazatlán on Wed., Feb. 25, instead of Puerto Vallarta.

Zuiderdam is next scheduled to visit Puerto Vallarta on March 2. Carnival Panorama is scheduled to visit on March 3 and Royal Princess on March 4.
