Must Watch: Brilliant Lady’s 2,400-Voice Arrival in New York City

Virgin Voyages’ newest ship Brilliant Lady is making its Miami ‘MerMaiden Voyage’ later this week. But as the line prepares for that trip, it is still reminiscing (with goosebumps) about the ship’s dramatic entry into New York City.

On September 3, the cruise line brought together more than 2,400 voices — Crew, Sailors, and the incredible Astrid Jorgensen of Pub Choir — to turn New York Harbor into what Virgin Voyages called “a living, breathing symphony of connection.”

Sir Richard Branson was front and centre of course, as the ship’s occupants filled the harbour with the sounds of Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now.’

The line has now released a behind-the-scenes look at how this performance came to life, from the laughter and rehearsals on deck to the awe of 2,400 voices rising together against the city skyline.

It was a moment that transcended cruising and became something truly human: strangers singing together in harmony beneath the Statue of Liberty, celebrating Brilliant Lady’s arrival and the spirit of togetherness that defines Virgin Voyages.

You can watch the music video above, or check out a full documentary on the making of the music video here.
