Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica to Reopen December 1 After Comprehensive Reno

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica to Reopen December 1 After Comprehensive Reno

Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts  will reopen the fully renovated Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica, in Runaway Bay on December 1.

The year-long renovation included a complete update of the hotel’s main areas, including rooms, common areas, dining offering, leisure and entertainment areas. Bahia Principe says the refurbishment also delivered a stronger connection with the local identity of the destination.

The company says the reopening reinforces a new chapter for Bahia Principe, marked by the evolution of its brand architecture, clearer positioning and a more premium hotel offering, segmented and connected to culture and destination.

The brand offers a segmented hotel proposition built around Explore and Escape, two sub-brands designed to meet different ways of traveling.

Explore is aimed at families, groups and travelers who want to combine relaxation, leisure, entertainment and a connection with local culture, while Escape is geared toward an adult audience seeking a more relaxed, sophisticated stay focused on disconnecting.

In this context, the Explore and Escape sub-brands help organize the brand’s offering and make it easier for each guest to identify which hotel best fits their needs, motivations and travel style.

A Family Resort Rooted in Jamaican Culture

The initiative is part of the 50% joint venture between Hyatt and Piñero, which manages the Bahia Principe resorts and owns the brand. Thanks to this collaboration, Bahia Principe maintains its brand identity and hotel essence, and Hyatt integrates its resorts into the Inclusive Collection, strengthening its international reach and connecting them with the company’s global platform.

“The reopening of this hotel is a significant step for Bahia Principe, because it allows us to bring back a completely renovated strategic asset to our portfolio and strengthen our presence in Jamaica,” said Julio Pérez, CEO of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts.

Located in Runaway Bay, on Jamaica’s north coast 69 km from Montego Bay airport, Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica features 647 rooms, 3 swimming pools and 7 restaurants, including Knife, an à la carte steakhouse, plus international, Mongolian and Italian cuisine, the Route 66 concept and other more casual dining options.

The experience will include live music, karaoke, beach parties, dance classes, sports and “Xaymaca The Show,” a journey through the island’s history and rhythms. The family offering will be completed with a Kids Club, waterpark, creative activities, bike tour, patois classes and Bahia Principe Village. Guests can also enjoy the à la carte restaurants at the adults-only Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay.

To mark the reopening, the brand has launched a promotional campaign for the resort, with exclusive discounts of up to 50%.
