How David Attenborough Are You? Explore Worldwide Wants to Know

Observing gorillas in the wild is the prize in an Explore Worldwide contest.

To celebrate the upcoming 100th birthday of natural history icon David Attenborough on May 8, Explore Worldwide is giving animal lovers the chance to win an unforgettable adventure viewing gorillas in the wild.

By taking part in the adventure travel operator’s interactive quiz, How David Attenborough Are You?, participants can win a place on the Uganda and Rwanda Gorilla Discovery tour, worth up to $12,090 CAD.

Using hours of documentary footage and research across 43 programs dating back to 1955, Explore Worldwide has created a unique map charting every location Sir David has presented from during his remarkable career. The results highlight a lifetime dedicated to discovery and storytelling: 333 locations across 83 countries and territories, spanning more than seven decades of filming.

By selecting all the countries they have visited, quiz participants receive their own ‘Attenborough score’, showing how closely their adventures match Sir David’s – plus a personalized wish list of destinations to inspire their next trip.

Sir David’s latest work, A Gorilla Story, shines a light on the beauty of the natural world and the importance of protecting it for future generations. In that same spirit, Explore Worldwide says its Gorilla Discovery tour offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience an extraordinary wildlife encounter, observing endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat in Bwindi National Park.

Speaking of Attenborough, Michael Edwards, Managing Director of Explore Worldwide said:

“There is no one else on the planet who has nurtured such a profound culture shift toward sustainable travel and responsible wildlife watching. Sir David Attenborough’s storytelling has inspired generations to explore with curiosity, respect and care, values that sit at the very core of what Explore Worldwide is built upon.”

You can take the quiz and enter the contest here. The competition closes at 6:00 PM EDT on June, 30 2026. Terms and conditions apply.
