Trinidad & Tobago Welcomed 11% More Visitors in 2025

Trinidad & Tobago Welcomed 11% More Visitors in 2025

An infographic on Trinidad’s tourism success in 2025.

Trinidad and Tobago welcomed 370,266 visitors in 2025, an 11% increase over 2024. While tourism has been critical to Tobago’s economy for many years, the sector is of increasing importance in much-larger Trinidad, serving as a key pillar for economic diversification away from the oil and gas industry.

“Tourism continues to drive economic momentum for Trinidad and Tobago,” the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism reported on social media. Trinidad’s air connectivity is also expanding, with 9,206 flights in 2025 — an 8% increase.

“More visitors mean greater spending in hotels, transportation, restaurants, and retail, supporting businesses, strengthening GDP growth, and increasing foreign exchange inflows,” the ministry added.

“Tourism is not just about travel, it’s about economic opportunity and national growth,” the ministry said.

Trinidad is the sixth-largest Caribbean nation by population, with about 1.5 million inhabitants.

The 2025 tourism data highlights the importance of strengthening connections to key international markets, particularly in North America and Europe, officials stated, while also fostering regional tourism links with its Caribbean neighbours.

As the country continues to expand its air connectivity and tourism offerings, Trinidad and Tobago says its vision for future tourism growth is rooted in diversifying its tourism infrastructure and enhancing visitor experiences.

With airports, transport networks, and hospitality services continuously improving, the government is investing in tourism infrastructure to accommodate a growing number of tourists and ensure that tourism growth benefits both residents and businesses across the islands.

“Modernizing facilities and enhancing digital services will make Trinidad and Tobago even more accessible and attractive to future visitors, contributing to the sustainable development of the region’s tourism economy,” the ministry stated.
