Sometimes, the best career move is finding your way back to where you started.
That’s certainly the case for Nick Levasseur, who is heading back to Collette just weeks after leaving the tour operator for a short-lived stint with Celebrity Cruises.
Levasseur, who worked in business development at Collette from March 2024 to August 2026, announced his return in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Oct. 13), describing the move as a homecoming.
“It was only after stepping away from Collette that I truly realized how special this company is to me. Beyond the work itself, it’s the people, the culture, the leadership team, and the feeling of being part of something bigger that make Collette so unique,” Levasseur wrote in a post that, as of Tuesday night, had 75 likes, hearts and “thumbs up” reactions.
“Sometimes, it takes stepping back to truly appreciate what you had. Returning to Collette means so much more than coming back — it means finding my place again in an environment where I feel at home, surrounded by people and values that mean so much to me.”
“I’m genuinely happy to be back with my amazing team and truly grateful for the opportunity to continue this journey together.”
Levasseur’s exit from Celebrity Cruises was announced Oct. 4, shortly after he attended the Voyages en Direct (VED) conference in Cancun, Mexico.
In a message to Travel Market Report Canada, Levasseu said he resigned. He also clarified that he has “nothing negative to say” about his time at Celebrity.
“[It] just wasn’t for me and [I’m] lucky to have noticed and realized it,” he said.
The quick turnaround brings Levasseur back to familiar territory.
He will officially resume his previous business development manager role at Collette on Oct. 19, overseeing Eastern Ontario and the Maritimes.
