15 Sandals & Beaches Resorts Get New Names

Sandals and Beaches resorts across the Caribbean are getting a naming makeover, with 15 properties adopting new names that put their destinations front and centre.

The changes were shared on social media by Gary Sadler, executive vice president of sales and industry relations for Unique Vacations Inc, who urged travel advisors to familiarize themselves with the updated names ahead of their next client conversations.

“Travel advisors, we’ve got some NEW names across Sandals and Beaches, and I want you to know them!” Sadler wrote on his Instagram.

“The Caribbean has always been at the heart of these resorts, and now the names are putting the destinations front and centre!” he added.

The new naming approach places greater emphasis on each resort’s geographic location, with properties in Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Antigua, Curaçao, the Bahamas and Saint Vincent among those affected.

For example, Sandals Royal Bahamian becomes Sandals Bahamas Nassau, while Sandals Grande Antigua is being simplified to Sandals Antigua.

In Jamaica, several properties are adopting names that explicitly identify the island, including Sandals Montego Bay, which becomes Sandals Jamaica Montego Bay, and Sandals Negril, which becomes Sandals Jamaica Negril.

Sandals Royal Caribbean, meanwhile, will be known as Sandals Jamaica Caribbean Cay.

The changes also extend to the Beaches brand, with Beaches Negril becoming Beaches Jamaica Negril.

The 15 properties receiving new names are:

Sandals Royal Bahamian – Sandals Bahamas Nassau

Sandals Grande Antigua – Sandals Antigua

Sandals Royal Curacao – Sandals Curacao

Sandals Montego Bay – Sandals Jamaica Montego Bay

Sandals South Coast – Sandals Jamaica South Coast

Sandals Royal Caribbean – Sandals Jamaica Caribbean Cay

Sandals Dunns River – Sandals Jamaica Dunns River

Sandals Negril – Sandals Jamaica Negril

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort – Sandals Jamaica Ocho Rios

Sandals Royal Plantation – Sandals Jamaica Royal Plantation

Sandals Grande St. Lucian – Sandals St. Lucia Grand Bay

Sandals Regency La Toc – Sandals St. Lucia La Toc

Sandals Halcyon Beach – Sandals St. Lucia Halcyon Beach

Sandals Saint Vincent & the Grenadines – Sandals Saint Vincent

Beaches Negril – Beaches Jamaica Negril

“Same Beautiful Resorts”

Despite the new names, Sadler emphasized that the changes are limited to the resorts’ names, reassuring advisors that the properties and experiences their clients know remain the same.

“Same beautiful resorts. Same Caribbean hospitality. Just a new way of identifying the places your clients love,” he wrote.

For travel advisors, the update means getting acquainted with a new set of property names when discussing resort options with clients, preparing quotes and making recommendations.

And Sadler had a familiar message for the trade.

“Now, you know me. I always say, KNOW your product! And this is one update you want to have right,” he wrote.
