Brazil’s Hotel Colline de France is the best hotel in the world, according to Tripadvisor’s reviews.

This week, Tripadvisor unveiled the winners of its 2024 Traveler’s Choice Best of the Best Hotels Awards. The annual awards identify the top hotels from around the world, based on traveler ratings from the past calendar year. These hotels represent the top 1% of the website’s 1.6 million listings.

Taking the top spot worldwide is Hotel Colline de France, located in the mountain town of Gramado, Brazil. The 34-suite boutique property is renowned for its charm, personalized service, and French elegance. It has ranked in Tripadvisor’s top five for three consecutive years, with more than 4,000 5-star reviews.

“Our Best of the Best Hotels are marvels, acclaimed by thousands of travelers for their remarkable service, stunning design, and wealth of amenities that redefine what it means to have an exceptional hotel experience,” said Dan Mitchell, vice president & general manager hotels, Tripadvisor.

Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards also ranks the Best of the Best Hotels by country. Looking at the top 25 U.S. hotels, the top-ranking property is the Shore Hotel, an eco-friendly, contemporary boutique hotel that is located in the heart of Santa Monica, California. Vancouver’s Wedgewood Hotel & Spa takes the crown for Canadian hotels, boasting a five-star rating from nearly 3,500 reviews thanks to its old-world charm, delicious food, and convenient downtown location.
