Club Med has officially broken ground on its second Canadian mountain resort, Club Med Tremblant, marking a major milestone in the company’s expansion across North America.
Scheduled to open in December 2028, the new all-inclusive property in Quebec’s Laurentian Mountains will build on the success of Club Med Québec Charlevoix, which opened in 2021.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together Club Med CEO Stéphane Maquaire, Club Med North America and Caribbean President and CEO Carolyne Doyon, Alderan President Rémy Bourgeon and representatives from Station Mont Tremblant.
A press conference at Casino de Mont-Tremblant followed the ceremony, offering further details about the resort’s vision and guest experience.
The project is part of Club Med’s global mountain expansion strategy, with North America identified as a priority growth market.
Tremblant’s appeal as a four-season destination, particularly among travellers from Quebec, Ontario, the United States and international markets, makes it a strategic fit for the brand’s premium all-inclusive model.
“Club Med is today the pioneer of all-inclusive stays and a global leader in premium vacations, and above all, the only global hotel brand specializing in all-inclusive ski resorts,” said Maquaire in a press release.
“Today, Club Med Tremblant joins this portfolio and is fully aligned with our global strategy. An ambitious vision that aims to make Club Med an iconic lifestyle brand and reach 100 resorts by 2035. But this growth is, above all, thoughtful growth. Sustainable growth. Growth built on exceptional destinations. And Tremblant is unquestionably one of them.”
Ski-In, Ski-Out Access
Located on Tremblant’s Versant Soleil, the new resort will offer ski-in, ski-out access at the foot of the slopes, placing guests within one of eastern North America’s largest ski areas.
The property will combine Club Med’s signature all-inclusive mountain experience with the natural beauty of the Laurentians and proximity to Tremblant’s pedestrian village.
Its development also coincides with a major expansion of Tremblant’s ski infrastructure.
The destination recently announced plans to develop Timber Summit, adding 62 acres of skiable terrain, eight new runs and a high-speed quad chairlift for the 2027-2028 winter season.
A Four-Season All-Inclusive
Club Med Tremblant is being designed as a year-round mountain destination catering to families and adults.
During winter, skiing and snowboarding will take centre stage, with lessons and lift passes included in Club Med’s all-inclusive offering.
During the warmer months, guests will be able to explore the Laurentians through outdoor activities, wellness experiences and nature-focused programming.
The resort will also feature Club Med’s signature Kids Clubs, sports academies and its multicultural team of G.O.s, or Gentils Organisateurs.
Dining experiences will draw inspiration from Quebec’s local culinary traditions, while après-ski activities and entertainment will reflect Tremblant’s lively alpine atmosphere.
An Exclusive Collection space is also planned, offering a more intimate and personalized experience within the resort. The concept emphasizes comfort, exclusive spaces and panoramic mountain views in a setting inspired by traditional alpine lodges.
Approximately 300 Jobs Expected
The development is expected to generate approximately 300 direct jobs while supporting local suppliers, outdoor recreation businesses and tourism organizations throughout Mont-Tremblant and the Laurentians.
“Following the success of Club Med Québec Charlevoix, seeing a second resort take shape in Quebec today is a tremendous source of pride, not only for Club Med, but also for the entire province. Club Med Tremblant represents the next chapter in this success story. A story built on trust, strong partnerships and a shared conviction that Quebec has an important role to play in the future of international tourism. Beyond the approximately 300 direct jobs that will be created, Club Med Tremblant will help create opportunities for local talent, support local economic development and strengthen the vitality of the entire community,” stated Doyon.
Since opening in 2021, Club Med Québec Charlevoix has welcomed more than 170,000 visitors, demonstrating demand for premium all-inclusive mountain vacations in Canada.
The Tremblant project is also supported by French investment management firm Alderan.
Sustainability considerations
Environmental considerations will play a central role in the resort’s design and construction, said Club Med.
More than 61 per cent of the property will be dedicated to green space, with landscaping plans focused on restoring and extending existing forest cover using native plant species characteristic of Mont-Tremblant.
The project is targeting LEED Gold certification for construction and Green Globe certification for operations.
Additional sustainability objectives include lower-impact construction practices, reduced energy consumption and local sourcing.
