Playa Celebrates Grand Opening of Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana

The former Jewel Punta Cana has reopened as the Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana.

All-inclusive resort owner and operator Playa Hotels & Resorts has announced the grand opening of Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Formerly the Jewel Punta Cana, this new addition to Playa’s portfolio marks the second Wyndham Alltra in the D.R.

Situated on Uvero Alto Beach, Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana features 620 rooms, family-friendly amenities, and an array of dining options.

“The Dominican Republic has long been a key destination for Playa Hotels & Resorts, and we are thrilled to expand our footprint with the grand opening of Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana,” said Fernando Mulet, EVP and Chief Investment Officer.

“This addition reinforces our commitment to the island’s thriving tourism sector, offering guests another opportunity to experience our award-winning, all-inclusive hospitality. With our signature ‘Service from the Heart’ we look forward to welcoming travellers to this stunning destination and continuing to support the growth of tourism in the region.”

The Wyndham Alltra brand, born from the collaboration between Playa Hotels & Resorts and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, offers an all-inclusive escape for guests of all ages.

The Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana boasts one of the largest free-form pools in the D.R.

At Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana, families can soak up endless fun, with amenities including one of the Dominican Republic’s largest free-form pools. Beyond the beachfront, guests can elevate their stay with workouts at the fitness centre, treatments at the full-service spa, and adventures at the kids club.

This summer, the excitement will reach new heights with the debut of Splash Island Water Park, featuring a lazy river, high-speed tube slides, and a kiddie splash zone.

Guests at Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana will enjoy nine different culinary experiences, from gourmet creations at five à la carte restaurants to a vibrant buffet, a laid-back pizzeria, and a cozy café— all with the freedom of no reservations required.

The resort’s nine bars and lounges keep the good times flowing with unlimited top-shelf spirits, fine wines and beers. Among them, Twisted Olive takes the spotlight, where live entertainment meets artfully crafted cocktails.

Playa says the fully renovated rooms and suites at Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana are designed with comfort and experience in mind. From standard rooms to expansive suites, each accommodation features a furnished patio, a daily restocked minibar, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

The décor reflects the colonial heritage of the Caribbean, blending warmth and serenity with vibrant pink, green, and blue accents that echo the beauty of the Punta Cana landscape.
