Elvi Cal and Lina Côté to Retire From Travelbrands

Elvi Cal and Lina Côté will retire from Travelbrands this summer after decades of dedicated service.

“I truly believe that the success of any organization is built on the strength of its people, and today we
honour two of the greatest I’ve had the privilege of working with throughout my career,” said Nathalie Tanious, President & CEO of H.I.S. Canada Travel Inc. “Elvi and Lina’s commitment, passion, and leadership have not only shaped who we are, but also paved the way for where we’re headed.

Their legacy is woven into every success we’ve achieved, and their influence will continue to resonate long after they’ve moved on. It has been a joy to work alongside them, and I know I speak for everyone when I say that our accomplishments are deeply tied to their contributions. Thank you, Elvi and Lina, for everything you’ve given us. I wish you both a retirement filled with relaxation, joy, and, of course, travel.”

Elvi Cal, who has been Senior Vice President, Product & Commercial for 38 years, will retire July 31, 2025. In a press release, the company says “Elvi has been a cornerstone of TravelBrands, spearheading product innovation, building strategic partnerships, and leading with integrity and passion. His deep expertise and collaborative approach have played a pivotal role in defining TravelBrands’ success. For many, Elvi has not only been a leader but also a mentor and a trusted colleague. While Elvi will retire from his full-time position, he will continue to support TravelBrands as an independent consultant. His continued involvement will provide invaluable insights and ensure that the strong relationships he built over the years are sustained.”

Lina Côté has been TravelBrands’ Director of Sales for 23 years and will retire June 30, 2025. The company says “Lina has been an inspiration to all who have had the privilege of working with her. Throughout her 43-year career in the travel industry, with nearly half of that time spent at TravelBrands, she has been a steadfast advocate for travel agents. Known for her calm demeanour and results-driven approach, Lina has earned the respect of her colleagues and peers alike. Her dedication to supporting and empowering travel agents, along with her genuine care for people and deep respect for the travel industry, have been central to her success. In retirement, Lina will continue to contribute as an independent consultant, providing valuable expertise and support.”

TravelBrands would like to extend its heartfelt thanks for their dedication, hard work, and the lasting legacies they leave behind, saying their influence has touched not only TravelBrands but the travel industry as a whole.

Further announcements regarding new appointments and leadership responsibilities will follow.
