Kensington Cares Impact Report Highlights Power of Travel
by Marsha Mowers
Kensington, has released its FY25 Kensington Cares Impact Report, highlighting continued progress under its “Journey for a Better World” philosophy and reinforcing the role of travel as a force for positive change.
Helen Giontsis, President, noted that today’s travellers increasingly seek value-driven experiences but often lack clear pathways to contribute.
“Travellers consistently tell us they want to leave a positive footprint, but they are not always sure how to do that in a thoughtful and credible way,” said Giontsis. “Kensington Cares’ Journey for a Better World philosophy ensures that social impact is an inherent and seamless part of each trip.”
She added that immersive, private-guided journeys help foster deeper connections to destinations, encouraging more meaningful engagement.
Through its Kensington Cares platform, the company contributes one per cent of trip sales to trusted global partners, while its One + One model invites clients to match that contribution. In FY25, client participation alone generated more than $141,500.
In FY25, 60% of funding was directed toward Culture and Community initiatives, with additional support allocated to Exploration and Conservation, and Poverty Alleviation. A total of 10 organizations received funding, balancing long-term partnerships with targeted projects.
Key initiatives included:
- Support for The Explorers Club through the Kensington Conservation Grant
- Funding for Nekton’s Ocean Rising initiative and First Descent: Comoros expedition
- Expanded ocean research voyages with eXXpedition addressing plastic pollution
- Continued partnership with Giants of Africa, including construction of basketball courts in Rwanda, Morocco and South Africa, and participation opportunities for youth teams
The report follows Kensington’s recent rebrand, which formalized its business lines across Tours, Villas, Expeditions, Air, Corporate, Vacations and Ultraluxe, alongside sister company Kensington Yachts.
