Travel Market Report on Monday opened the inaugural edition of TMP Montréal, the first-ever French-language Travel Market Place show, and the first-ever Quebec edition of the long-running travel trade show series.

The show, held at the Bonaventure Montréal hotel in the city’s downtown, brought more than 225 travel advisors together with suppliers and industry leaders for a day of learning, networking, and celebrating the industry.

“Our goal has always been to bridge the gap between world-class suppliers and the frontline advisors who drive this industry, and doing so in Quebec allows us to support a critical segment of the Canadian trade. We’ve seen incredible momentum with our editions in Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary, and adding Montréal to that circuit solidifies TMP as the premier independent education platform for travel professionals nationwide,” said Brian Israel, senior vice president and publisher of TMR.

TMP Montréal featured the same advisor-focused content that is at the heart of all TMP editions, ranging from global aviation trends and regional air travel perspectives with Air Canada and Porter Airlines, to navigating the rapid evolution of travel technology. One of the day’s highlights was the executive panel featuring leaders from various Quebec-based consortiums, who shared insights on sustaining growth and overcoming industry hurdles in a shifting digital landscape.

In addition to the general assembly sessions, the event featured targeted workshops tailored to the modern advisor’s toolkit, strategies for recruiting the next generation of travel professionals, and the nuances of the luxury and group travel segments, along with a sold-out trade show.

Montréal is the fourth edition of the traditional Travel Market Place shows, joining other editions in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto. Across the four shows, TMP features over 2,200 Canadian travel advisors, making it the largest travel trade shows in all of Canada.

“Bringing Travel Market Place to Montréal isn’t just about adding another pin to our map. It’s about meeting a vibrant, professional community of French-speaking advisors where they live and work. Being able to provide a dedicated, high-level forum entirely in French is a milestone we’ve worked toward for years,” said Daniel McCarthy, vice president and editor-in-chief for TMR.

TMR also hosts the annual TMP on the River, an exclusive sailing aboard AmaWaterways that features education paired with a FAM trip, the TMP Leadership Exchange, an annual invitation-only event for agency owners held in Cancun, and the Canadian Travel Awards, which will return this November.
