Travel Women We Love: Just You’s Meg Murgatroyd
by Marsha Mowers
There’s a particular energy in the travel industry among women that’s hard to describe; it’s a sort of unspoken camaraderie that we encounter at airports, trade shows, and supplier briefings alike. And for those who’ve made travel a lifelong career, that energy doesn’t just inspire, it defines.
Just You’s Head of Trade Sales for North America, Meg Murgatroyd, embodies that – she’s a seasoned travel executive who’s spent decades shaping the supplier landscape from both behind the scenes and at the front lines of global sales.
“I’ve been really lucky,” Murgatroyd told us. “I’ve sat on both sides of the table, and that’s given me a great appreciation for the complexity and joy, of this industry.”
Her career began on the tour operator side, cutting her teeth at Insight Vacations. From there, she stepped into a pivotal role at Sears Travel, then a powerhouse retail travel brand, where she became Cruise Product Manager, eventually taking on broader product leadership responsibilities.
“It was a fantastic organization in its heyday,” she recalls. “I loved that role. Product touches everything. You’re working with suppliers, frontline agents, marketing, operations — it really sharpened my understanding of how everything fits together.”
That foundation propelled her to leadership roles at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Fun Sun Vacations, and then to a seven-year tenure at CAA South Central Ontario, where she served as Director of Supplier Management. The role cemented her reputation as a skilled negotiator and connector, respected for her strategic eye and deep supplier relationships.
But as is often the case in travel, a casual industry encounter opened her next chapter.
“I ran into Una O’Leary at an event, and she said, ‘I’ve joined CWT, do you want to come over and work with me?’” Meg laughs. “I said sure, I’d love to.”
She spent the next two years leading supplier management across North America for Carlson Wagonlit Travel, before joining Quark Expeditions, where she spent another seven years managing global sales in the expedition space, a segment she describes as “a masterclass in storytelling and guest connection.”

Now, with a career spanning cruise, air, retail, expedition, and guided holidays, Meg is a leader who’s navigated every sector, often in spaces traditionally dominated by men, and has done so with quiet tenacity and collaborative strength.
“It’s such a supportive industry — especially for women,” she says. “I’ve brought in people from outside of travel, especially into marketing roles, and they always say the same thing after a few months: ‘I get it. I’m not going anywhere else.’”
That feeling of being part of something so supportive, is echoed by women across the travel community. While still working toward full equity in executive leadership, women like Meg and the others we’ve profiled in our series, are proving that influence doesn’t require a title. It’s about relationships, vision, and a genuine love for the work.
“I absolutely love this industry,” Meg says. “I feel incredibly blessed. And I’m not alone — that’s the thread through all the women I’ve worked with. We stay, we grow, we bring others in. Because once you’re here, you don’t want to leave.”
