G Adventures Wrapping Up a Memorable Six-Continent Year for Advisor Fams

G Adventures Wrapping Up a Memorable Six-Continent Year for Advisor Fams

A G Adventures Galapagos Island Hopping fam group.

G Adventures is set to mark the close of its 2025 educational travel program, celebrating a year of familiarization (FAM) trips that will have hosted over 150 Canadian travel advisors across six continents.

This year’s agenda, which will officially conclude in December, saw agents exploring some of the operator’s most iconic routes, including destinations like Japan, Peru, Greece, Morocco, New Zealand, Jordan, South Africa, the Galapagos, Costa Rica, and Thailand.

The extensive annual program was designed not just for familiarization, but to immerse Canadian agents in the company’s core philosophy of community tourism and ethical travel.

David Green, G Adventures’ VP Global Sales and Managing Director For Canada.

“G Adventures has always been an agent-first organization, which is why it’s so important that our FAM trips are intentionally designed to be unlike anything else in the industry,” said David Green, VP of Sales and Managing Director, Canada, for G Adventures.

“These aren’t just hotel inspections or surface-level sightseeing trips. Instead, we offer meaningful deep dives into our entire philosophy where we focus on showcasing the ‘heartware’ of a destination, not just the hardware.

“This means agents go beyond the tourist traps to visit our Planeterra community projects, meet the people their clients will impact, and truly understand how community tourism works on the ground,” Green adds.

“When our agents return, they don’t just sell a tour, they sell their own authentic experience along with the conviction that travel can be a powerful force for good. That’s the expertise and confidence that gives them a successful edge and can set them apart in the market.”

Travel Market Report Canada can attest to Green’s words, having travelled on a highly memorable Galapagos Islands fam earlier this year. We’re also preparing to head to Asia in early November for another G fam, this time the Journeys: Explore Southern Thailand itinerary in conjunction with National Geographic.

The 2025 itineraries included a unique blend of cultural immersion, active adventure, and social impact, allowing agents to personally experience the products they sell. All trips are accompanied by a local chief experience officer (CEO) and also a member of the Canadian G Adventures team, who provide destination training and support while on the road.

In the words of agent attendees:

Seeing massive wild Galapagos land tortoises mating was a rare and precious experience.

“Scientists around the world would give their eye teeth to witness what we stumbled upon one sparkling afternoon in the Galápagos,” said Cindie Barlow of Travel Best Bets. We weren’t even looking for it, but just off the “Walk of Tears” trail, near the thunder of crashing ocean waves, we heard a haunting sound we couldn’t quite place. The three of us (including the Travel Market Report Canada representative) froze, then slowly turned to see it: A massive wild land tortoise, easily 500 lbs., mating with his gal who couldn’t have been more than a quarter of his size. He was completely undisturbed by our presence, and after a few stunned minutes, we granted them some well-earned privacy.

“If you ever have the privilege to visit, here’s my advice: squat in front of a barking sea lion on a dock, hit record on your phone, and send a personal video message to each of your top clients. Invite them to join a G Adventures trip of a lifetime. The tour leaders are nothing short of outstanding. It worked for me. I’m currently researching dates for next fall for my top clients and they may even include their six other friends,” Barlow added.

G Adventures CEO Sandra Masaquiza and Global Purpose Specialist Anup ‘Nuppy’ Khiritbhai Mistry embody the company’s thoughtful approach to travel.

The 2026 FAM season was recently announced, with new trips from Costa Rica to Thailand, giving agents the opportunity to:

Eat and learn in Egypt: learn to prepare traditional Egyptian bread and Mahshi in a cultural kitchen run by the women of the Nawaya community project who are actively preserving their small-scale farming heritage.

Attend temple talks in Thailand: visit a serene temple in the Suthep district and engage in an informal, candid discussion with young monks and their teachers about daily life, beliefs, and the principles of Buddhism.

Visit the cloud canopy in Costa Rica: tour the Monteverde Institute research base, learn about the famed Cloud Forest, and receive a lecture from an explorer on new discoveries, insect studies, and tropical reforestation efforts.

Experience an icon in Ireland: Enjoy an immersive tour of the legendary Old Bushmills Distillery. Discover the 400-year heritage of making whiskey in small batches, followed by an exclusive tasting.

Gain coffee insights in Colombia: Go behind the scenes at a family-run working coffee farm to learn the entire process from plant to finished bean. Get a hands-on lesson from an expert on the cultivation and drying techniques that make this world-famous coffee.

Tour among potatoes in Peru: experience life in a rural Andean community with a cultural and agricultural tour of the Parque de la Papa in the Pampallacta community. Learn about the project’s work to conserve indigenous plant biodiversity while observing traditional cultivation and weaving techniques.

Opportunities for G-selling agents don’t stop at FAM trips.

“Our commitment to our agents is centred on the belief that we grow together as true partners. We view their success as our own success, and that drives our commitment to supporting them,” said Erin Rogers, National Sales Manager for Canada.

“This means ensuring they have everything required to excel, from access to training through our monthly In the Loop webinars, year-round discounts, and our G Dollars incentive program. We aim to be the most supportive partner in the industry, giving agents the tools and knowledge required to confidently sell our products and grow their business.”

Agents interested in experiencing future G Adventures FAM trips for themselves, or who wish to learn more about our small-group adventures and ethical travel initiatives are encouraged to reach out to their local Global Purpose Specialist (GPS), or sign up for the latest news and updates via the G Adventures Canadian Agents of Change facebook group.
