Intrepid Travel has announced a new product range of day tours that reimagine a typical day in popular European cities.

Dubbed “Uncommon Day Tours,” the new experiences are launching in Barcelona, Paris and Venice. Each day tour has been carefully designed to bring travelers to experiences away from the tourism hotspots, helping combat overtourism while meeting demand for European travel.

Each Uncommon Day Tour is capped at 12 guests and runs from two to three hours. They are priced between $65 to $95, and join Intrepid’s growing portfolio of day trips. Currently, the company operates 25 day tours in Europe across 11 cities.

Guests can look forward to experiences in lesser-known neighborhoods that offer cultural immersion while supporting local businesses. Examples include experiencing everyday life in Barcelona’s neighborhood of El Clot, a chocolate-tasting workshop at a women-owned artisanal shop in Venice, and enjoying fresh pastries, a neighborhood market, and tranquil parks in Paris.

“Tourism to Europe isn’t slowing down, and we’re not trying to fight that. What we can do is give travelers a better framework for how they show up when they get there,” said Leigh Barnes, president for Americas at Intrepid Travel. “Uncommon Day Tours is about helping people decide what kind of traveler they want to be in some of the most visited places on earth, through smaller groups, locally-led experiences, and a more intentional approach to exploring destinations that see millions of visitors each year.”
