ACTA & Aurora Expeditions Complete First Immersive Expedition Cruise Experience

ACTA & Aurora Expeditions Complete First Immersive Expedition Cruise Experience

Participants in the ACTA/Aurora Expeditions immersive expedition cruise.

In partnership with Aurora Expeditions The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors (ACTA) recently welcomed 26 travel advisors on a seven-day, first-of-its-kind Immersive Expedition Cruise aboard expedition vessel M/V Sylvia Earle, exploring Iceland’s Westfjords region.

Advisors experienced the dramatic beauty of Iceland’s fjords, discovered diverse natural wonders, and took part in expedition activities including Zodiac wet landings and guided hikes through lava fields and along rugged coastal trails. The journey offered travel advisors valuable insight into the expedition cruise experience, equipping them with firsthand knowledge to better serve clients seeking adventure and experiential travel.

“This was my first expedition cruise, and I wasn’t sure if it would be for me. I ended up loving every minute of it,” said Laura Tempan, CTC, Sun Touch Travel.

The ACTA/Aurora Expeditions group in Iceland.

“The experience gave me a whole new appreciation for what expedition travel is all about, and I now feel much more confident introducing clients to expedition cruising and inspiring them to explore incredible destinations like Iceland.”

“Immersive experiences like these reflect ACTA’s commitment to education and professional development, providing members with firsthand knowledge and valuable insights that enable them to better serve clients and grow their businesses,” the organization said in a press release.

ACTA Referral Program: You Could Win an Aurora Expedition

ACTA wants to remind members that its Referral Program remains underway through August 31. Travel advisors and agencies who join, renew their ACTA membership, successfully refer a fellow travel advisor or travel agency, or complete eligible certification activities between January 20 and August 31, 2026, earn ballots toward an exclusive Grand Prize Draw.

Courtesy of Aurora Expeditions, one lucky travel advisor will receive a complimentary Balcony B cabin (1x FOC) aboard the Sylvia Earle for the South Georgia, Falklands and Antarctica expedition, with an approximate value of $45,000.For more information about the ACTA Referral Program, or to refer a fellow travel advisor, click here
