American Cruise Lines Christens New Ship American Liberty
by Daniel McCarthy /American Cruise Lines (ACL) officially welcomed its newest ship into its fleet on Thursday, American Liberty, during a christening ceremony in Newport, Rhode Island.
The 100-passenger ship features four decks with a catamaran bow. All rooms onboard include a private balcony. The ship also includes an open-top deck with a walking track, both inside and outside lounges, a main restaurant and casual restaurant, and a separate fitness center.
American Liberty is the third of four Coastal Cap ships, joining American Eagle, which was christened last August, American Glory, which was christened last November, and American Legend, which will join the fleet in November of this year.
American Liberty will now sail New England Islands cruises into September. It will then shift to a mix of East Coast itineraries, from Hudson River Fall Foliage cruises roundtrip from New York City, to Historic South & Golden Isles cruises, between Charleston, South Carolina, and Amelia Island, Fla. (November 2024 through spring 2025).
