American Cruise Lines (ACL) is expanding its ship order with Chesapeake Shipbuilding, adding four more ships to its current six-ship order.

With the addition, ACL will roll out 10 new ships over the next 3 years, all exclusive to the U.S. market. The new ships will almost double the ACL fleet, which will reach 21 small ships next year.

The 10 new ships start with American Legend, a 4th Coastal Cat that was delivered to ACL last week and will welcome guests starting on Nov. 25. After that, ACL will roll out one ship every few months including three new more riverboats and six more new coastal ships coming.

Among them, 2 new Patriot Class ships, 125-passenger American Patriot and American Pioneer, will debut next year. And 2 more Patriot Class ships, American Maverick and American Ranger, will debut in 2026, along with the new riverboat American Encore.

Four more newbuilds will then join the fleet in 2027—ACL is promising more on that, soon.
