Azamara Cruises will continue the rollout of Azamara Forward, its most extensive fleetwide renovation program ever, with Azamara Journey heading into a two-week dry dock in November 2028.
“We’re continually looking for ways to elevate the Azamara experience while staying true to what our guests love most about sailing with us,” said Dondra Ritzenthaler, CEO of Azamara Cruises. “Azamara Forward allows us to thoughtfully refresh our ships, creating inviting spaces for guests to connect, enjoy exceptional dining and entertainment, and feel at home between the incredible destinations they discover with us.”
The dry dock (Nov. 16-30,2028) will see Journey receive a reimagined Discoveries Restaurant, a dedicated Chef’s Table experience, a new Atlas Bar, a transformed Cabaret Lounge, a complete refresh to Azamara’s Sanctum Spa, updates to staterooms and suites, and enhancements to public spaces throughout the ship.
As previously announced, the Penthouse Deck will remain exclusive to Azamara Quest and will not be added to Azamara Journey.
The upcoming dry dock represents another important milestone in Azamara’s ongoing investment in its fleet, building on the initial rollout of Azamara Forward aboard Azamara Quest and the planned enhancements aboard Azamara Onward in 2027.
Following its dry dock, Azamara Journey will debut its enhancements on Nov. 30, 2028, departing Athens, Greece, on a 12-night Greece and Egypt itinerary. Additional details about the sailing and booking availability will be shared in the coming weeks as Azamara opens its upcoming deployment for sale.
The Azamara Forward program is already underway, with Azamara Quest set to debut its own enhancements following dry dock in November 2026. The ship’s debut sailing after its renovation is scheduled to depart on Dec. 18, 2026, marking the first milestone in the fleetwide program.
