Disney Cruise Line Places Order for Four New Cruise Ships

Disney Cruise Line, which has historically been a smaller cruise line, will grow rapidly over the next several years. The line placed an order for four additional ships to be delivered between 2027 and 2031, bringing the total fleet to 13 vessels.

The announcement was made at Disney’s annual D23 fan event by Josh D’Amara, chairman of Disney Experiences.

“Disney Cruise Line is consistently the top-rated cruise line for families because it offers something for everyone,” D’Amara said. “Expanding our fleet gives more people, in more parts of the world, the opportunity to experience a vacation at lease like only Disney can provide.”

The ship names, designs, and itineraries are still in development.

Disney’s next newest ship, Disney Treasure, launches later this year, while Disney Destiny will debut in late 2025. Disney Treasure will feature an all-new Broadway-style stage show, “Disney The Tale of Moana.” When Destiny launches it will feature another all-new stage show, “Disney Hercules.” The cruise line also has Disney Adventure debuting in 2025 in Singapore, specifically for the Asian cruise market.

Disney’s newest private destination, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point opened to cruisers this past June.
