When EXPLORA III joins the Explora Journeys fleet later this summer, it will be the first ship to debut with subtle changes to its onboard offering. At 63 feet longer than its fleetmates, the vessel will offer more space, a redesigned suite mix that favors Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences, new dining options, and enlarged spa and fitness facilities.
“EXPLORA III represents a natural yet powerful evolution of our vision for ocean travel,” said Anna Nash, president of Explora Journeys. “… a luxury floating hotel that offers even greater space, comfort and choice of amenities, while welcoming the same carefully balanced number of guests as EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II.”
With 463 suites, only two more than its fleetmates, EXPLORA III benefits from LNG technology, allowing for the increased length, resulting in one of the highest ratios of total public space per guest, (210 square feet per guest). With expanded public areas, more open-air deck space per guest, and a higher number of Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences, the ship also offers almost one crew per guest.
While there are only two more suites overall, the mix of accommodations has changed with more Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences than on EXPLORA I or II. Ocean Penthouses account for 24% of the suite inventory on EXPLORA III, while Ocean Residences have increased to 9% of the total.
Enhanced Public Spaces
The Lobby onboard EXPLORA III has been re-envisioned as a sculptural, double-height atrium defined by sinuous curves and a richer contrast of Perlato di Sicilia and Sahara Noir marbles. A new asymmetrical staircase leads to the lobby’s circular bar where a fireplace enhances the convivial energy of the space.
The all-weather Conservatory Pool & Bar on Deck 11 offers more space than ever before and is centered around a 48-foot pool and flooded with natural light through its protective glass framework. The retractable glass roof can open or close as needed.
New Dining & Beverage Options
Three new dining and beverage concepts will debut on EXPLORA III.
Shore Club on 11 will be a poolside option at the Conservatory Pool. The Chef’s Table by Explora Journeys will provide an exclusive culinary experience with live preparation and immersive presentation, and The Cellar by Explora Journeys will serve as a haven for wine enthusiasts.
Complementing these experiences, EXPLORA III’s 12 bars and lounges will include a new Outdoor Cigar Lounge inviting guests to linger over rare whiskies and premium spirits in the fresh ocean air.
Wellness
Explora’s Ocean Wellness spa and wellness facilities, along with EXPLORA III’s fitness area have been brought together on Deck 5. At the Spa, guests will find new signature treatments and holistic wellness rituals, such as the Sava Sound Pod, which offers a restorative audio experience using calibrated sound frequencies and vibrations to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support mental clarity.
An expanded outdoor Sports Court plays host to padel, pickleball, and basketball, while an extended running track stretches along the decks.
Kids Clubs
EXPLORA III also introduces evolved spaces for younger guests, including the Nautilus Club Juniors which will offer an environment for children aged 3 to 5, while the Nautilus Club Teens will provide a hub for ages 6 to 17, with curated activities designed to entertain and connect.
EXPLORA III will launch ahead of schedule with a “prelude” Mediterranean journey from July 24 to 29, 2026. It will then be named in a ceremony in Barcelona alongside MSC Group’s new terminal on Aug. 1.
“As the third ship in our fleet, EXPLORA III also marks an important milestone in our journey, bringing us halfway through our six-ship vision and reinforcing our long-term commitment to shaping a more refined future for ocean travel,” Nash said.
