French Polynesia destination expert Paul Gauguin Cruises — recently voted Best Small Cruise in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards for the second consecutive year — has unveiled its 2027 Voyages Brochure.
This guide brings the essence of the 330-guest m/s Paul Gauguin to life through imagery and storytelling, chronicling all-inclusive luxury voyages across the Society Islands, Tuamotus, Marquesas, and Cook Islands.
Filled with articles from travel writers and testimonials from past guests, the 92-page booklet is more of a lifestyle magazine than a traditional brochure. The company says its evocative content uncovers layers of The Gauguin Experience, where relaxed elegance, intimate service, and an authentic infusion of local culture make way for meaningful travel.
Readers will conjure up the feeling of an overwater “bungalow” that sails as they learn about the ship’s deep connection to nature and the sea—made possible by its purpose-built design with a limited draft, which allows it to navigate the region’s smaller islands and shallow lagoons unlike other ships who come and go in the destination.
“The Gauguin has a special way of creating transformative encounters between guests and the culture, people, land, and waters that make up this enchanting region,” said Susan Robison, Vice President, Marketing & Communications, PONANT EXPLORATIONS GROUP, Americas.
Readers dreaming of a trip to French Polynesia will discover a variety of itineraries in store for 2027. Ranging from seven to 14 nights, the voyages sailing roundtrip from Papeete, Tahiti, include highlights such as overnight stays in Bora Bora, Moorea, Fakarava, and Tahiti, as well as dedicated calls on Tahuata in the Marquesas Islands.
A day at Motu Mahata, the line’s private islet nestled off the coast of Taha’a, is featured on every itinerary and remains a favourite among guests. Among the 2027 journeys are:

While The Gauguin’s breadth of itineraries opens doors to deeper exploration ashore, the destination comes to life on board thanks to music, storytelling, and other activities led by Les Gauguines, a troupe of Tahitian hosts who call the ship their home, in addition to other cultural programming.
A recent multimillion-dollar refurbishment introduced an elevated design of Le Grill restaurant, a reimagined pool deck with shaded cabana areas, new connecting staterooms to accommodate the rise in multigenerational travel, an updated livery, and sustainable technology upgrades such as a new seawater filtration system. More than 70% of the ship’s staterooms feature private balconies, while select rooms and suites come with butler service. The Gauguin is also the only passenger ship in the region with a PADI certification dive program on board.
