Friesen Travel Group Tops 20 Expedia Cruises Storefronts with Winnipeg Expansion

Shawn Friesen delivers a keynote address at Friesen Travel Group’s annual gathering.

Friesen Travel Group, the largest multi-location franchise owner within the Expedia Cruises network, is expanding into Manitoba, marking its first foray outside Ontario.

The group has acquired two long-standing Expedia Cruises locations in Winnipeg, bringing its total to 20 storefronts – all of them under the Expedia Cruises banner — and its consultant count to over 650.

“Expanding into Manitoba and surpassing 20 locations is a defining moment for our team,” said Shawn Friesen, President and CEO. “We have always believed that physical storefronts serve as the anchor of our success, allowing us to build authentic relationships within the communities we serve.

Friesen Travel Group is the largest multi-location franchise owner within the Expedia Cruises network.

“Winnipeg has a strong, passionate community of travellers, and this is just the beginning. Over the next three years, our planned storefront additions will ensure that expert, face-to-face vacation planning is accessible to even more neighbourhoods across the city.”

Over the next three years, the company plans to open three additional Winnipeg locations and continue to expand westward.

“For someone who loves travel and wants to help people create memories, this industry is filled with opportunity,” Friesen stated.

“Our goal is not simply to open more locations. It is to welcome new people to our team of over 650 Team Friesen consultants and develop exceptional consultants ready to make an impact in the lives of travellers.”
