Holland America Going Big in Alaska for 2021 with Six Ships

Holland America Line this week unveiled its 2021 lineup for Alaska and it includes six different ships sailing Alaska and Glacier Bay itineraries.

From April to September, Holland will sail Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Oosterdam, and Volendam in Alaska, including sailings out of Seattle, Vancouver, Whitter, and more.

According to Holland America president Gus Antorcha, the line is seeing “strong interest” for Alaska for 2021.

“We’re seeing strong interest for next summer’s Alaska season as people anticipate being able to get out again, travel and spend time with family and friends,” Antorcha said.

Holland will sail a wide range of Alaska itineraries, including seven-day roundtrip “Inside Passage” cruises on Koningsdam; seven-day Alaskan Explorer itineraries out of Seattle on Eurodam and Oosterdam; and Land+Sea journeys on Kongingsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, and Volendam ranging from nine to 18 days.

We’re ready to return with plenty of options for everybody from couples to multi-generational families,” Antorcha added. 

It’s been a summer of transformation for Holland America as the line named Antorcha as its new president in July and retired some ships, including Amsterdam and Rotterdam, shortly after, giving the line a fleet of ten ships until Ryndam, its newest Pinnacle class ship, joins the fleet in May 2021.

For the moment, Holland America has voluntarily suspended all of its sailings through Dec. 15 as the industry continues to work with the CDC to build a restart plan.

Holland America has been protecting all travel advisor commissions on bookings for cancelled cruises that were paid in full, along with offering advisors commission on the total amount of the FCC when rebooked.

Holland, in Sept., also launched bonus commission for some 2021 bookings.
