Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic is introducing eight extended-length voyages, ranging from 18 to 38 days, that give guests more time to explore the destinations they’re visiting. Though the line has previously offered longer itineraries in the Antarctic and Arctic, this is the first time the line is offering them in other parts of the world.

According to the line, the “epic” voyages bring guests to seldom-seen and rarely explored destinations, “reminiscent of true exploration of years past…”

The eight options include:

Atlantic Isles Discovery: From the Falklands to Madeira (38 days, March 7, 2023) – This transatlantic voyage departs from Buenos Aires and visits the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, Tristan da Cunha, Saint Helena, and more before finishing in Madeira, Portugal.

Wild Coasts of Argentina, South Georgia, and the Falklands (24 days, Oct. 18, 2022) – Guests will explore the Argentinian coastline, visiting secluded ports, wildlife-rich estuaries and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Peninsula Valdes (at the height of the Southern right whale breeding season). The itinerary also visits the Falkland Islands and South Georgia.

Under the Southern Cross: New Zealand to Melanesia (18 days, Dec. 14, 2022; Feb. 24 & Oct. 24, 2034; Jan. 24, 2024) – This itinerary follows in the wake of Captain Cook from New Zealand’s North Island to the Solomon Sea, visiting several islands in the South Pacific.

Exploring Indonesia, Bali, Raja Ampat and Papua New Guinea (21 days, Oct. 7 & Nov. 27. 2022) – While the highlight of this itinerary is the chance to spot the rare Komodo dragon, it also visits a variety of off-the-beaten-path destinations including the Asmat region, one of the least-explored places on Earth.

South Georgia and the Falklands (19 days, Oct. 4, 2022; Feb. 26, 2023; Feb. 26 2023) – This sailing follows in the footsteps of Shackleton, with in-depth wildlife explorations of South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.

Southern Odyssey: New Zealand and the Subantarctic Islands (22 days, Dec. 27, 2022; Jan. 14, Nov. 30 & Dec. 18, 2023) – Guests will explore New Zealand’s coastline, including a visit to Fiordland National Park and two days in Milford Sound and Dusky Sound, before heading further south to the sub-Antarctic islands.

Journey Across the Remote Pacific Islands (27 days, Oct. 11, 2023) – This itinerary explores some of the most far-flung tropical islands in the world, from the archipelago of Palau to the atolls of Chuuk and Kiribati to Tahiti.

Wild South America: The Guianas to Brazil (24 days, Sept. 24, 2023, Sept. 24, 2024) – Visiting five countries and two legendary rivers, this itinerary gives guests the chance to experience different cultures and a variety of wildlife, as well as visits to the UNESCO site of Fernando de Noronha.
