Cultural expedition cruise company Swan Hellenic experienced its strongest operational month on record, with July revenue surging 170% year-on-year. Total growth year-to-date was 268% and the latest August figures show the trend continuing.
The company’s core polar portfolio drove two-thirds of this total growth, with Arctic revenue tripling year-on-year, while Arctic guest volumes more than doubled (+125%).
Looking ahead, momentum for polar voyages continues, with the upcoming Antarctica season already pacing 32% ahead of last year’s performance.
Intensifying guest loyalty is also driving growth, particularly a demand for new destinations. Swan Hellenic’s new Asia-Pacific itineraries achieved 373% year-on-year growth, while the latest Africa itineraries also performed well, with growth already at 98%.
Overall repeat guest share has more than doubled in the past two years, with many past guests booking three or more expeditions so far.
“Our team is very proud of these exceptional results,” commented Swan Hellenic chief commercial officer Mario Bounas. “They’re a ringing endorsement of the outstanding discovery experiences Swan Hellenic provides… At the same time, we wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of our wonderfully enthusiastic and insightful trade partners. We’d like to thank them all.”
