Brussels Reopens, Remains on Maximum Terror Alert
Brussels slowly moved out of lockdown today, four days after being shut down because of an imminent security threat. Schools, universities, and some of the city’s metro services reopened, but are heavily patrolled by troops.
The city still remains on the highest possible terror alert, level four, as the manhunt for the top suspect in the Paris attacks, Salah Abdeslam, continues. The Belgian government only plans to review the alert status next week.
