Air Italy announced this week it has signed two Special Prorate Agreements (SPAs) with Finnair and El Al.

The agreement with Finnair will make five new key destinations in Finland (Helsinki, Turku, Oulu, Kokkola and Rovaniemi) available via Malpensa for Air Italy passengers departing from one of seven key airports in central & southern Italy (Rome, Naples, Palermo, Catania, Lamezia Terme, Cagliari and Olbia).

At the same time, Finnair’s customers will now have the opportunity to fly to Air Italy’s African destinations, traveling from Finland via Malpensa, and connect seamlessly to Dakar, Lagos, Accra, Sharm El-Sheikh and Cairo.

Air Italy’s partnership with El Al allows passengers arriving in Malpensa from North America  to be able to connect with El Al to land in Tel Aviv, while El Al’s customers departing from Tel Aviv can now easily reach Air Italy’s North American destinations via Malpensa.

From Tel Aviv, El Al’s passengers can also connect to Air Italy’s domestic network from Malpensa to the key cities and towns of central and southern Italy such as Rome, Naples, Palermo, Catania, Lamezia Terme, Cagliari and Olbia.

“One of the key aims of Air Italy is expanding our network to offer ever more travel opportunities as well as great connectivity to our customers,” said Rossen Dimitrov, Air Italy Chief Operating Officer. “To date, we have already reached a number of important milestones in this ambition, and today we are very proud to enhance the cooperation with Finnair and El Al in addition to our partners, Qatar Airways, Bulgaria Air, Latam, Aegean Airlines, and Alaska Airlines.”

Flight tickets under the SPA agreements are available for purchase.
