A&K Sanctuary, Abercrombie & Kent’s portfolio of luxury safaris, has announced the launch of Kitirua Plains Lodge.
Kitirua Plains Lodge is an all-suite lodge located in Kenya’s iconic Amboseli region, right in the heart of elephant country. The 128-acre property is set on a private concession that borders Amboseli National Park, and is just 10 minutes from the park gates.
Kitirua Plains Lodge is now available to book and is scheduled to open on June 1, 2026.
Departing from traditional safari tented camps, Kitirua Plains Lodge features 13 stand-alone suites, including two two-bedroom suites. Property amenities include a wellness center, pool, and boma, with an overall design sense that draws inspiration from the local Maasai way of life.
Guests can enjoy spectacular views of one of Africa’s most stunning landscapes, including uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro on the horizon. The mix of sweeping savannahs, marshes, and acacia woodlands provides the perfect backdrop for enjoying the region’s diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, cheetahs, and a variety of birds.

Kenya is a significant location for Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group (AKTG) because of the company’s history: In 1962, the company’s founder, Geoffrey Kent, established his first safari camp in Kenya, setting a high bar for the luxury adventure travel space.
“Kitirua is a return to our roots, and a bold leap forward,” says Cristina Levis, CEO of AKTG. “This is a property that honors our heritage whilst looking to the future, a celebration of place, people, and the pioneering spirit that defines A&K. To open this lodge in Kenya, where our story began, feels like coming full circle.”
