Fairmont to Debut in Greece with a Beachfront Crete Resort

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts will debut in Greece when Fairmont Chania Resort, a beachfront property on the island of Crete, opens in 2029. 

The Accor luxury brand just announced the property signing, saying the new resort will be marked by Fairmont’s signature upscale service and destination-led experiences on the northwest coast of historic Crete. 

Omer Acar, CEO of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, said the new development is “a testament to the enduring strength of the brand, extending our distinctive heartfelt hospitality to the world’s most cherished destinations.” 

“Upon the resort’s 2029 opening, this property will further our commitment to crafting meaningful guest experiences, deeply rooted in local culture, authenticity, and a profound sense of place,” he said. “Greece represents an exciting and strategic addition to our global portfolio, underscoring our dedication to thoughtful, responsible expansion in destinations that share our long-term vision for exceptional, quality tourism.” 

Fairmont Chania Resort will feature 104 guest rooms, including 40 suites, six dining concepts, a wellness center with six treatment rooms, a kids club and teens club, and direct beach access with a beach club. 

The resort will also be well-positioned for large groups, weddings, and other events, with an on-property chapel for private ceremonies.
